Craig helps leverage my time by getting things done. He understands issues quickly, asks probing questions, executes and follows through on the agreed plan without coming back and consuming a lot of my time, and he provides a deliverable that helps me know more about my business, helps me save money and allows me to manage my business with greater confidence. 

 

Craig helped me raise the money to buy out several of my former partners in this business.  He played a major role in re-establishing the financial infrastructure of the business after we separated it from the other family businesses.  He developed a complex financial model and authored the plan to raise $10 million to build a processing plant that allows Souter to provide product into high-margin markets we could not previously penetrate, doubling our EBITDA.

 

I often use Craig as a sounding-board for incompletely developed ideas because he helps me flesh out the good ideas, but also, he will not hesitate to tactfully tell me an idea may not be worth spending more of my time and effort pursuing.  

 

Conversations with Craig often reveal opportunities I had not previously considered.  His perspective, that arises from the intersection of his financial, legal and engineering/operation experience, has caused us to change course on several occasions.
